Pastors need resources when ministering to the marriages of their churches.  We want to help.  Marriage For A Lifetime Ministries is sensitive to the needs of the local church, recognizing that often the church is limited in its available resources to deal with critical issues of the family.  We are committed to helping pastors serve the families of their churches. 

 

Strong marriages make for healthy families.  Healthy families make effective churches.  Effective churches make productive communities.  And productive communities evolve into a powerful nation.  So let’s build a powerful nation, together, one marriage at a time.

Counseling Materials

 

The Newlywed Handbook

It works well for pre-marital counseling and newlywed counseling.  There are breakout sessions at the end of the chapter that each spouse must complete and then come together to discuss their answers.  Breakouts can be assigned as homework.  As pastor, you serve as facilitator.

When The Vow Breaks

This book works better for marital conflict counseling.  Again, the leader serves as facilitator.  You should read the book first before taking your couples through it.  There are sections on Restoring A Fallen Leader, Working through Forgiveness, etc.

Couples Cafe

There is NO COST to local churches (Michigan and California) to host a café.  A free will offering is taken at the end of the session. We take a look at issues relevant to marriage through the eyes of scripture.  It is open to all Christian denominations.  Pastors need to provide casual atmosphere for an informal interactive gathering of married and engaged couples.  Pastors are also asked to provide very light refreshments.  We also ask pastors to pick one topic.

Tending the Bride Marriage Conference

For senior pastors (and their spouses) only!

This event is hosted by Marriage For A Lifetime Ministries.  Tending the Bride is a delicate ministry to shepherds. It is an opportunity for senior pastors to steal away from the hustle and bustle of ministry life and reconnect with their spouses. The hotel accommodations, meals, materials and conference fees are all paid for by the ministry (MFAL).  Pastors and their spouses are only responsible for their transportation to the conference.  The next one is held in Memphis, TN, October 19-20, 2012.  It is by invitation only.  If you are a senior pastor or spouse of a senior pastor and would like to receive an invite, click here.
